![]() ![]() Out Now When a once thriving kingdom is infested by terrifying monsters, it’s up to the mysterious character, known only as ‘Corvus’, to find out why. I was almost always better off just avoiding attacks altogether, because the risk of missing a parry is far greater than the reward of landing it successfully. Soulsbourne-inspired action RPG Thymesia will arrive on August 9, developer Overborder Studio & publisher Team17 have announced. For fans of games like Dark Souls and Bloodborne comes Thymesia, a dark, challenging, souls like ARPG where the plague is your weapon. It was time that felt poorly spent, since successful parries don’t do anything except prevent damage done to you and return a small amount of it back to the attacker, unlike in genre contemporaries where a good parry opens enemies up for counter attacks. IGN is pleased to announce that Thymesia, the Souls-like in development at OverBorder Studio, will release this December. The publisher provided a code for purposes of review. The game does have a free demo to download for those that wish to try out the game first. In combination with its tiny effective window and its awkward wind up, parrying is a skill that takes an outsized amount of practice to develop. Thymesia will release on August 18th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, & PC with a cloud version releasing on Nintendo Switch. Thymesia - Xbox Series X Product SKU: 35823590 Classification: Mature 15+ (MA15+) Category: Action & Shooter Games, All products, Best Sellers, Boost All. This is doubly the case for the deflect, your default defensive measure. This can sometimes feel too limiting, because once you've started an action, you're committed to it until it's over. ![]() There’s no stamina here, so attacking and dodging are limited by combo strings and animations. Corvus is fleet of foot and quick with his blades, opting to overwhelm enemies with a storm of saber strikes and dodge out of range just before the enemy can strike back. ![]() Combat in Thymesia heavily favors aggression. ![]()
